Buying a Home: Visiting homes!

Hey all,

We've got to that part in our series, actually visiting homes! Once you have let your Realtor know your favorite homes to view, and they've set appointments, it's time for the most fun part! (Step one here and step two here)

Tips of the Trade

Depending on your situation, plan on only seeing about 4-5 homes max. Any more than that and believe me, you won't remember them all very well, and that can end badly

Bring a notebook (if your agent isn't going to supply you with listing sheets). Write what you love and hate about the homes, and any distinguishing features

Wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather.

Technology is your friend. Want to remember all the details, bring a camera. Have a family member who can't make the viewing? Take a video to show them!

Eat beforehand! There is nothing worse than viewing a home when you're hungry.

Decide how you're going to discuss homes. I pay the which do you prefer game- after the second home is viewed, which do you prefer? Once the 3rd home is viewed, which do you prefer? This one or your favorite from the first 2? and so forth.

Now get out there and chase the American Dream!
